Poplar Forrest Timber Frame Restoration
Forrest, Virginia
Post and Beam Reproduction to Historic Architecture Site
Poplar Forrest was one of Thomas Jefferson's private estates, which he designed himself. Although built well, the historic site was in need of some restoration. These photos depict some of the work that was done to the post and beam (timber frame) structure of the residence.

Although timbers are very strong, they are also heavy, sometimes requiring a bit of persuasion!
