Westerly Armory Tower Window Restoration
Westerly, Rhode Island
Restoration of Windows in the Head House of the Westerly Armory
In 1901, five stone and masonry armorys were build in Rhode Island. In the main building of the Westerly Armory the original sash were removed and alluminum replacement windows were installed during the energy crisis of the 1970's. Our job was to remove the alluminum replacement windows and restore and reproduce missing and damaged original window components.
Of the five armorys, the one in Woonsocket was the only one which still retained the original windows. We were able to copy the construction details of those for the restoration of the windows in the Westerly Armory.
